Both the picture and the title remind me of a section of a book I love very much: When Oracles Speak by Dianne Skafte.
The trigger for her first discovering the way the universe sometimes speaks to us was from a vase of flowers in her office and a petal dropped off…
Viv… I re-read everything Brian Weiss these past few years, about all I could fit in with my studies. Caroline Myss, Eckhart Tolle, Gary Zukav… the basics of my transition. Now I am ready for more. The Journey of the Soul (?) has been recommended to me. I’d want to explore more on the subject of “the soul” now that I have the time. Any suggestions? I am right now reading The Lost City of Z! A recommendation by my son! Something totally different! I am liking it! An interesting fact is that a lot of the early explorers were very much into spiritualism!… Diane
Thank you for my feed of colour. It inspired me to head to our Market with my camera – I have a feast of colour. By the way, if you peek into my latest blog, there’s an award for you.
Color is such an amazing language (it seems you agree!)… visual… yet so “internal”. It speaks from our most emotional selves… I’m happy that my colorful image inspired you! And I do love my beautiful award… Thank You!

Well obviously, as you know me via Cotoveros, Mister God this is Anna.
I suspect you have already read Women who run with the wolves but if not that is a great book.
I find I discover more now in novels and poetry than I do in any of the how-to type books(I have read Myss too and while I enjoyed it, it becomes too proscriptive) I’m not a fan of Tolle either.
I write novels which draw out various themes but I don’t do it deliberately. It just happens as the story unfolds. You might enjoy the one released earlier this year, Strangers and Pilgrims, which explores the idea that we are pilgrims on a journey, through the eyes of six people who have reached emotional and spiritual rock bottom in their lives. One of the protagonists is a faith healer who has lost both his faith and his gift.
I am not into this whole self-promotion thing, and feel awkward about suggesting my own book, but I do think you may really enjoy it. I believe also that the medium of story(as Clarissa Pinkola Estes would agree!) allows for a freer understanding and a personal interpretation of ideas.
if you are interested, have a peep at my website: http://www.viviennetuffnell.co.uk
And for poets, Rumi takes you a long way, as does Gibran.

Thank you Anna for the suggestions. I am so inspired by the writers, poets, individuals who interact so elegantly with WORDS… Blogging has brought them to me!… I am mostly a VISUAL thinker, doer, learner… my own words tend to be simple… Interesting to note that we all are balanced in different ways… and can be heavy in one or the other… Visual, Kinesthetic, Auditory… That’s what makes it all go round! Diane
I am highly amused that you called me Anna!!
I recently did a course to do with how we learn and the whole visual, kinaesthetic audio styles of learning came up. Because when I teach, I teach very varied students and have to try and ensure the learning styles of all are addresses where possible.
For me, writing is about somehow capturing the images, emotions and scenes in my head so that some else can experience them too.
it does take all sorts, indeed.
Thank you for the suggestions Viv! I plan on tracking down your book! It does seem like something that I would very much enjoy. One of my favorite writers, I know he has become very “commercial”, but the five people you meet in heaven, by Mitch Albom, is a very lovely little book. All of is books are. Diane
I may have read it years ago, it rings a bell.
One author I used to enjoy was Paulo Coelho but I have very much gone off him now because of the relentless publicity around him and by him. It negates so much of what he claims. I emailled him a few years back and got a very bland stock response in return. My feelings are he is not what he pretends to be, and nor is he as great as he is held to be either. I am also pretty sure many of his books are now ghostwritten too but have no proof.
Yes, I have read him too, I agree… I find that often there is so much “stuff” that complicates the simple essence of things… whether it be in art, books, even nature… even people. You know what I mean? I always go for the simple… the truth.
Thank you Viv! Today is my gallbladder surgery. It feels unreal/strange, I’ve never been under general anesthesia before. And to add another unreal dimension to all of this, I have had many past lives with injuries to my belly area. I know that physical and emotional scars are imprinted on your soul and will manifest themselves time and time again until the energy is released. I would have liked the energy to naturally dissipate now that I know the source of the orignial injury however the surgeon said that my gallbladder was too far gone. It will be an adventure at least! I view individuals chronic injuries, both emotional and physical so differently now. Diane
I found this later in the day , so I hope the surgery went well. I don’t like anaesthesia much and react poorly the more I have it. I first had it aged about 32ish and many times since then. I offer a small prayer in white sage for your recovery too.
Be good to yourself.

Thank you! All went well! Even got to see the little “bugger”. Fascinating to me! Wondering now if the samskara will show itself in other ways or if it is forever gone from my soul?
Thank you! I will check out your blog too… and know already that we have similar interests! Fun to find new friends out there in the universe! Click, click, click and there you are!
I don’t know if the soul wound will be gone or not but your gall bladder issues will be.
I did a liver cleanse some years ago and got rid of quite a few stones and haven’t had trouble since.
And yes, simple is usually better all round. When a mystique is created around a writer/artist/guru figure, it makes me wonder what is being hidden that they wish to keep unseen. Suspicious mind I may have but I am usually right.

glad you came through ok.

I am continually searching for books to read… thank you! I’m happy to know that my photo/art brought back this tender memory…
I think if you can find it, it will be just the kind of book you will relish, from what little I know of you.
What other kinds of books do you enjoy?

Seriously, great job

That is really stunning. I’m not a photographer at all but whatever you did to accomplish those colors is amazing. Keep it up.
Thank you Tammy for the comment! It inspires me to continue to create!

Viv… Samskaras, the soul wounds are called…
I just found your blog. How beautiful. I love your caption. It is a great reminder not to waste a single day.
