“Bodywork and the Psyche, Psychotherapy and the Body”

Every muscular rigidity contains the history and meaning of its origin. (Wilhelm Reich 1993, in an article by Dave Heath). This is what excites me about massage therapy.
In my Anatomy class yesterday a teacher listed “releases stored memories” as one of the benefits of massage therapy. Wow! This concept ties into what I experienced during the Past Life Regression Therapy training with Brian Weiss at the Omega Institute this past July. An acute or chronic injury, whether physical or emotional, often has a history that can be linked to a childhood experience or perhaps an injury in a past life. These “injuries” are stored in our bodies (and even our souls) and can be accessed and resolved both by past life regression therapy and massage therapy. Sooooooooo very cool!
