What is the Lesson?

Pondering by DASG
Throughout our lifetime we are faced with challenges. Sometimes these challenges seem to be insurmountable, with severe, life changing consequences. Sometimes the stress of a challenge can linger for years, take the life of a loved one, or even lead to your own death. The next time you are faced with such a challenge consider this . . . perhaps you have chosen this challenge for the betterment of your soul. Perhaps you made a sacred contract with yourself and God* for specific reasons that will enrich your soul with empathy, compassion, and love. Ask yourself, What is the lesson? What can I learn by this experience? If you choose not to look for the lesson or continue to wallow in the pain of the experience your soul is destined to relive similar experiences over and over again, not only in this lifetime, but in the next. Even the most horrific of experiences can be one of growth if you consider the lesson you have chosen to learn.
Perhaps you can give it a try . . . ask yourself . . . What is the lesson? And know that the lesson is yours and yours alone.
*The concept of God may be different for each one of us. The term suggests a higher power or energy that our souls are connected with.
