A Cool Angel on a Hot Day

To prepare for an upcoming workshop at the Omega Institute taught by Brian Weiss on Past Life Regression Therapy (!) I have been devouring books about all things “out there” and came across this interesting idea in a book by James Van Praagh, the world-famous medium who is renowned for conveying messages and conversations between worlds. In a chapter from his book, Talking to Heaven, on Chakras (our energy centers), he speaks of a silver cord that connects our physical and non physical selves. The 3rd Chakra “… is the connection to the silver cord and enables us to astral-travel. The silver cord is a concentration of energy in the form of a tether that connects the etheric body to the physical body. It is seen clairvoyantly as a silvery white color. At night when we sleep, we leave the physical body and travel for miles in the astral world. We are able to do this because our etheric body, the one that travels, is connected to our physical body by this lifeline or cord. At the time of actual physical death, the silver cord snaps, and the etheric body is freed (pg. 254).

Whatever happened at the Omega Institute?
Ever hear of the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia? It provides a tour of the 19th Century spiritualists with discussions about seances in the White House and endownments for College Chairs for research into spiritualism to such presigious schools as the University of Pennsylvania.
